Following in the footsteps of Ashley Doucette from the Malpeque Bay Credit Union Ltd. in Kensington, PEI who took part in the Shave for the Brave on July 5, Sean Kilpatrick, George Murphy, Judy Williams, Maureen Power, and Julia Dunne took part in the Public Service Credit Union (PSCU) Shave on July 13!
The combined efforts of all involved raised over $7,000 in support of young adults dealing with cancer in Canada through this year’s Atlantic Central Credit Union Shave initiatives!
Sean, George, and Maureen have all earned yellow toques in the past, but Judy and Julia were there to face the clippers for the first time! Whether it’s your first or fifteenth Shave, we’re so grateful that you all came out on a beautiful Friday to help provide programs to help young adults live with, through, and beyond cancer.
PSCU has been a proud supporter of Young Adult Cancer Canada (YACC), hosting Shave events for the past three years and being a dedicated sponsor since 2014. With the help of their members, employees, and large network — including EasternEdge and Reddy Kilowatt Credit Unions — they have raised in excess of $77,000 dollars through sponsorship and Shave initiatives for the many worthwhile programs offered by YACC.
The Shave for the Brave is a series of Community, School, Office, and Solo Shave events held every year. It is YACC’s biggest fundraiser and provides funds for all of the support programs the organization provides.
Thank you to all involved, and shout out to Brian Quilty for hosting today’s Shave at his branch!
