Community Shaves postponed

 Back to Recent News

Our mascot, Razor, has a very important announcement!
Razor has been following the advisories from provincial and federal health authorities and has made the tough decision to reschedule the March 14, 2020 community Shaves at the Avalon Mall in St. John’s, NL and the Gander Mall in Gander, NL.

The health, safety, and well-being of our participants, employees, volunteers, and spectators is YACC’s top priority and we are following the lead of Canadian and provincial public health authorities at this important time. We are committed to providing a great and safe experience for everyone involved.

For those who are ready to Shave, we hope you can do it with your close friends and family. Please connect with Brittany@youngadultcancer.ca if you need any help and she’ll ensure you get your Shave for the Brave toque. For those who want to keep your hair growing, we have booked Saturday, May 30 as a back-up date for your Shave!

Thank you so much for your commitment to Shave for the Brave, thank you for having the back of thousands of young adults dealing with cancer in Young Adult Cancer Canada’s (YACC) community.

Today YACC is seeing record high demand for our programs, 340 per cent compared to historic demand of 180 per cent. This means we receiving 340 applications for every 100 spots we have available at four-day programs, like our retreats and conferences. The Shave for the Brave is YACC’s largest fundraiser; your haircut will give a life-changing connection to young adults craving a community of their peers who “get it.”

Every cancer, every stage, YACC’s got their back only because you have ours. Thank you.
