After attending Survivor Conference 2017, Paula Veinotte-Nickerson wanted to give back to YACC. When the next Shave season came around, she enlisted the help of her friends and family — especially her son, Tyson — to hold the first East Hants Community Shave in Nova Scotia.
Not only did Tyson Shave for the Brave, his hair was long enough to donate to Wigs for Kids, a partner of ours that offers wigs at no cost to children dealing with hair loss issues.
Congratulations to all involved for a successful event, raising $1,290 to help young adults live with, through, and beyond cancer. Money raised during Shave for the Brave funds Young Adult Cancer Canada’s digital, local, and national programs like a peer-led private Facebook group, Retreat Yourself, Survivor Conference, and more!
