Larkhall Academy hosted its seventh Shave for the Brave on Friday, June 7, raising over $5,500 in support of Young Adult Cancer Canada (YACC)!
The students kicked off the day with their signature chant before 18 brave students hopped up on stage for their most powerful haircut of the year.
The gym was filled with dance moves, cheers, and proud parents (and other family members) for the hour-long event. There was a good ratio of shaved heads and donated braids which were soon covered up by exclusive bright yellow Shave for the Brave toques.
Thank you once again to the staff and students at Larkhall for making this another successful year, to everyone who supported it, to YACCer Naomi-Lee Cheeke who came for the high fives, and to hairstylists Alyssa Lawlor and Rebecca Hodder of The Head Quarters Salon & Barbershop in Paradise, NL and Adelle Ruby of The Head Room in Paradise. This event wouldn’t have been possible without all of you. Thank you for helping young adults living with, through, and beyond cancer!
